![]() ![]() I gotta think it is something with my router but everything is set up right according to all these sites, so i'm clueless. ? Someone PLEASE tell me what i am missing here? I've followed every step and tried all these off the wall suggestions and yet NOTHING seems to make my computer accessible from outside its own network.? Oh btw, on a whim i tried setting up remote PC on a different computer (also on my LAN) and opened up the coressponding ports, same thing. Neither for my computers nor from my ISP. I know eveyone says to use a static ip, but i don't. I am NOT using a static ip address, because i rarely turn my computers off and my ip addresses rarely ever change. My remote access for my router is turned on and that is working fine so i can contact the router from outside my network. I don't have a clue why, because in my router set up it was clearly stated as being open. I went to a website that tells you if a port is open on this particular pc and according to it, my port 5901 was NOT open. I tried using the default 5800/5900 ports and setting my pc to listen on those, no luck either. I'm only trying to get this one computer working right now, if i can get on one, i can get on the others (i assume) but when i first started trying this, i tried?accessing other computers and got the same message.? My firewall is turned off right now, as i've been trying to do this awhile and won't turn it back on until i figure this out. ![]() I'm assuming the machine is being contacted, but refusing the connection everytime. I type in my external ip address into the VNC viewer from a computer outside my network, followed by :5901 (I've read one colon, or two colons, tried both, both fail) IE 26.x.xxx.44:5901.? And my connection is always refused. I obtained the external IP address for my modem/router. I have my VNC server?listening?on port 5901/5801. My starting port and ending port is 5901 for that computer as well. I've configured port forwarding exactly as everyone has told me (even did it step by step the way the portforwarding website has detailed it for use with VNC) My starting port is 5801, ending port 5801 for my pc at 192.1.12.12. I can access computers from inside the Lan, but not outside. I've got a bunch of computers operating on a LAN at home that i would like to be able to access individually through VNC. Tried to access with my name but that doesn't make a difference. So I've been trying to solve this problem for weeks and am at my wits end. I have registered with and have the dynamic dns update tool installed on the same computer. I've also had my friend try to RDP/VNC to me and it didn't work. I've been googling and trying to figure this out for a few days with no luck. ![]() Ports forwarded: 3389, 5800, 5900 to computer hosting VNC/RDP server Also have tried puttingĬomputer/private IP into DMZ Mode which made no difference. Ports 3389, 5800, 5900 forwarded to my internal IP hosting VNC/RDP servers which is 192.168.1.64 inside my router. Accept incoming connections in TightVNC checked.Ĥ. I can connect internally from an other computer connected to network though.ġ.Remote Assistance is allowed with "Allow connections from computers running any version of remote desktop" selected.ģ. I have a home pc running Windows 7 ultimate that I can't connect through RDP/VNC from an external network. ![]()
